Margaret Beaufort Mysteries

The Margaret Beaufort Mysteries begin in the aftermath of the Yorkist victories of 1471, when Edward IV controls the English crown and Margaret Beaufort’s son, Henry Tudor, survives in exile. Her clerk Christopher Urswicke investigates murders and betrayals that threaten both her safety and Henry’s future claim.

Across the four novels, private crimes are inseparable from the Wars of the Roses. Yorkist agents, foreign mercenaries, false claimants and divided Lancastrian supporters force Margaret to judge whom she can trust while presenting outward obedience to Edward IV.
