Double Agent Series

The Double Agent series follows two intertwined espionage stories from the mid-1930s into the closing months of the Second World War: Charles Cooper, a British writer drawn into Soviet intelligence, and a traitor known as Archie who has penetrated the British establishment. Every Spy a Traitor moves from Stalin’s purges and the rise of Nazism to the outbreak of war; The Second Traitor centres on the 1940 invasion scare; and City of Traitors carries the contest into 1945 as Allied victory gives way to rivalry over post-war Europe.

The principal agents and conspiracies are fictional, but Gerlis places them within closely researched political and military settings. The series is planned to continue beyond the three books in this export; City of Traitors is book 3 and is scheduled for publication on 11 August 2026.
