Piye

Piye was a Kushite king who conquered much of Egypt and helped establish the Twenty-fifth Dynasty. His victory stela describes a campaign from Nubia into a politically divided Egypt, presenting conquest as the restoration of proper religious and royal order.

In Christian Jacq’s The Black Pharaoh, Piye, the Kushite ruler of Napata, looks north toward a divided and weakened Egypt where temples have lost authority and local powers compete for control.
