Jason
Jason was the leader of the Argonauts who sails to Colchis in search of the Golden Fleece. He succeeds through the aid of Medea, but his later abandonment of her turns the heroic voyage into a story of betrayal and dynastic disaster.
In Apollonius of Rhodes’s Jason and the Argonauts, this retelling or translation of the Argonaut story follows Jason, Medea and the crew of the Argo on the quest for the Golden Fleece. In Apollonius of Rhodes’s The Voyage of Argo, the Voyage of Argo is a translation of Apollonius of Rhodes’ Argonautica, the Hellenistic epic of Jason, Medea and the quest for the Golden Fleece. Other novels featuring Jason include Euripides’s Medea and Other Plays.
