Henry II of Castile

1334–1379

Henry II of Castile was the first Trastámara king of Castile, taking the throne after defeating and killing his half-brother Peter of Castile. His rise was tied to the wider politics of the Hundred Years’ War and Franco-English rivalry in Iberia.
