Edward Codrington

Edward Codrington was a British Royal Navy officer who served in the Napoleonic Wars and later commanded the allied fleet at the Battle of Navarino in 1827. The destruction of the Ottoman-Egyptian fleet helped secure Greek independence but created political controversy in Britain.
