Wolves of Rome

Armin and Wulf, sons of the Germanic prince Sigmer, are captured as boys and taken into the Roman world. Educated in the language, discipline and ambitions of the empire, they become Arminius and Flavus, commanders of Germanic auxiliaries trusted by Augustus. Rome offers status and military careers, but it cannot erase their knowledge of the tribes beyond the Rhine.

The brothers respond differently when imperial expansion threatens their homeland. Arminius uses his Roman training and his position beside the governor Varus to organise a confederation capable of striking the legions, while Flavus remains committed to the empire that raised him. Their divided loyalties lead toward the ambush in the Teutoburg Forest, where personal betrayal and frontier resistance destroy three legions and change Rome's policy in Germania.
