Billy Byrne returns to danger after events in Chicago and is drawn south into Mexico. There he becomes involved with warring factions, armed pursuit and rescue during the upheaval of the Mexican Revolution, while his relationship with Barbara Harding remains central to his choices.
The sequel places Billy inside the violence and uncertainty of the Mexican Revolution, where shifting factions and local warfare make ordinary loyalties dangerous. His efforts to survive and protect others turn the political upheaval into the setting for a more personal test of courage, responsibility and love.
