While Darcy is away, Georgie accompanies Belinda to inspect a cottage she has inherited in Cornwall. The property is uninhabitable, so they accept an invitation to stay at Trewoma Hall with Rose Summers and her husband Tony, a man with whom Belinda once had an affair.
The house is tense, Tony’s behaviour toward Belinda is troubling and the staff appear determined to control the guests. When a member of the household is murdered and the evidence points to Belinda, Georgie investigates old relationships and concealed events at Trewoma to clear her friend.
