The Constant Gardener

British diplomat Justin Quayle learns that his wife Tessa has been murdered near Lake Turkana in Kenya. Official explanations portray her death as the result of personal recklessness, but Justin suspects that her campaigning work uncovered something others wanted hidden.

Following Tessa's research, he traces a pharmaceutical trial and the alliance of corporate, diplomatic and governmental interests protecting it. His investigation becomes an attempt to understand both the conspiracy and the wife whose courage he had underestimated.
