Moscow, in the years after the Soviet collapse. British historian Christopher ‘Fluke’ Kelso is attending a conference on the newly opened archives when an elderly former guard claims to know what happened to a private notebook taken from Stalin’s room on the night of his death.
After the witness disappears, Kelso follows the notebook’s trail from Moscow to Arkhangelsk.
