Agent in the Shadows
June 1943. A clandestine meeting intended to strengthen the unity of the French Resistance is raided by the Gestapo in the Lyon area, and British agents Jack Miller and Sophia von Naundorf are sent to discover whether the Resistance has been betrayed from within. Their search takes place under the direct threat of Klaus Barbie’s security apparatus.
The novel draws on the real arrest of Jean Moulin and other Resistance figures at Caluire, an event whose circumstances generated decades of controversy about betrayal. Moulin, Charles de Gaulle and Barbie appear within the historical framework; Miller, Sophia and the central traitor investigation are fictional. The book concludes the Wolf Pack trilogy.
