In AD 55, within Roman Judaea during the reign of Nero, the veteran mercenary Telamon accepts an imperial commission to intercept a letter associated with Paul the Apostle and the expanding Christian movement. The message is being carried toward the community at Corinth, and Roman officials fear that its circulation could strengthen a faith they regard as politically dangerous.
Telamon begins the pursuit as a professional soldier concerned only with completing his assignment. His encounter with the courier, a young girl and communities divided over resistance to Roman rule forces him to confront the violence and detachment on which he has built his life. The journey becomes a conflict between imperial authority and the ideals of the Apostolic Age, asking whether obedience, survival or compassion will determine his final actions.
