Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton

Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton is a British author and former soldier whose career has included service in the Irish Guards and the Special Air Service. During twenty years in the British Army, he served as a troop and squadron commander and was deployed during the Gulf War, in Colombia and in the Balkans. He later worked within the Royal Household, first as an equerry to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and subsequently as private secretary to Prince William, Prince Harry and Catherine, Princess of Wales.

His debut historical novel, Beyond the Edge of Light, is set during the Second World War and follows an Englishwoman and a German aristocrat whose relationship places love, loyalty and national duty in conflict. The story incorporates wartime intelligence, the threat of invasion and the experience of those forced to choose between personal conviction and allegiance to their country. Lowther-Pinkerton drew on his military background and elements of his family history, particularly his mother’s wartime service, when creating the novel’s central characters.
